MINUTES OF COMMITTEE MEETING, September 10th 1901
The meeting was held in the League Room, Rothe’s Arch. Alderman J. Nowlan (and afterwards the Hon. Otway Cuffe V.P.) presided. The other members present were:- Mrs. MacCullagh; Mrs. Wall; Miss O’Brien; Rev. Br. O’Keeffe; Messrs J. Magennis; J. Farrell; T.W. O’Hanrahan, Hon. Treas.; and F.P. Burke, Hon. Secretary. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The Vice-President submitted a copy of the letter he had forwarded to the Most Rev. Dr. Brownrigg re Fr Casey’s resignation. On the motion of Mr. Burke, seconded by Mr O’Hanrahan, it was decided to employ Miss Cronin of Ballingeary, Co Cork at a salary of £40 per annum as teacher to the League Classes, the engagement to be terminated at three months notice on either side. Mrs Wall; Miss O’Brien & Mr O’Hanrahan were appointed a deputation to visit the convents in order to endeavour to induce the nuns to actively support the Irish Revival.
